For many homeowners, the idea of underground finishing is to remodel the same thing that the rest of the house was designed. This means that their ceilings are made of dry walls and show them like the rest of the house. Furniture must be the same interior. Unfortunately, this will not work. The dry wall ceiling provides little or no access to pipes running along your underground ceiling. Also, leakage of a single plumbing can cause serious damage. Underground walls have fewer windows than the rest, and laying trees on the underground floor will lead to home disasters.
The problem is this: Concrete is porous like a sponge. If the earth around your underground floor is moist, the concrete floor absorbs moisture from the ground and releases it to the underground air in the form of water vapor. Dirt around your foundation was backfilled when the Foundation was built. For this reason it is always looser and more porous than the surrounding unused land and water is always collected in your home foundation more than anywhere else.
When this moisture permeates the basement and is released, it gathers what lies on the underground floor. When wooden subfloor and carpet are laid on the floor, this moisture may be absorbed, mold, mold, putrefaction may occur. Your foundation is filled with fungal spores, dust mite feces, and unpleasant smells like your tree's subfloor and beautiful carpet decay. A few years later, there is more damage than you can stand. It is necessary to cut off and replace the entire underground floor. The solution to this has two simple rules.
Rule 1: Please do not install wooden floor underground.
Whether in the form of moisture coming through concrete, water will reach the underground floor sooner or later, whether it is a soil leakage or a piping leak from the house itself. It takes only about 48 hours for the mold to start growing and there is no easy way to dry the wooden floor. Installing wooden flooring in the basement is the highest and dangerous, in the worst case a disaster.
Rule 2: Add a reliable plastic vapor barrier to the floor and place the carpet on top.
