Rose hip seed oil comes from the seed of rose hip fruit, a vegetable growing in Chile. It is a "dry" oil, which means that it is easily absorbed into the skin and leaves no greasy residue. It is extremely high, essential fatty acids (over 77% of rose seeds are fatty acids). It is also rich in vitamins and antioxidants, especially provitamin A (tretinoin), lycopene, beta carotene, linoleic acid, linolenic acid.
All of these properties make Rosehip Seed Oil powerful for regenerating skin. Essential fatty acids are converted to prostaglandins that help regenerate cell membranes and tissues. The regeneration of this tissue eliminates scars, sun damage, and stretch marks. In 1981, the University of Santiago conducted 180 studies.
