Wisdom teeth are the third molars behind the mouth, usually appearing between 17 and 21 years old. Many people feel pain as wisdom teeth come in. This is normal and should not be the cause. Not all four Aichi teeth may come in.

Current studies indicate that tumor necrosis factor is a proinflammatory cytokine involved in brain immunity and inflammatory activity as well as in the initiation of pain and is elevated in many cases of NDPH suggesting persistent central nervous system inflammation .

Other complications resulting from the extraction include solitary nerve injury, lower alveolar nerve injury, dry socket, jaw fracture, tooth damage, tmj pain, hematoma, anaphylaxis, hemangioma and hemorrhage.

If the dentist advises removal of wisdom teeth, this should be asked and examined by the patient. Oral surgeons should perform surgery in hospitals to prevent complications. At other times, the oral surgeon would want to remove all four wisdom teeth teeth when truly 1 or 2 really needs to come out.
