Automatic Transport - Type of Car Carrier -2

If your vehicle is being transported via a car carrier it is a good thing to know the different types of transportation trucks that may carry your vehicle. The service between transportation trucks depends on the number of vehicles the trucks are shipped with, are open, and can be carried at once.

Enclosed automobile carriers are usually reserved for high value, recoverable, exotic car transportation. This service costs even more for equipment, number of cars, high cargo insurance necessary for driving. These transportation trailers are completely sealed, making damage from road debris virtually impossible. Also, the trailer loading system has a much simpler tire on the car frame and body. These trailers have 1 or 2 deck levels to load the vehicle. If you feel that getting the ultimate protection from preventable damage to your car is important, this is the way to go. The transportation price can be more than twice the normal open transporter trailer.

Open car carriers are most commonly seen and used. I've probably seen these trucks transporting vehicles on highways and highways. These types of tractor / trailer set-ups can have 1 to 2 levels with tightly tied cars. The number of cars they carry depends on the type of trailer. Some people can carry two cars, others carry ten cars, others have one or two levels.

As mentioned above, the difference in shipping costs will depend on the needs of the service timeline. If you are not in a hurry, your vehicle may be loaded onto a car carrier that holds more vehicles. Car carriers that transport many vehicles at the same time tend to be cheaper but take longer to pick up and deliver due to the amount of loading and unloading that occurs. If you need a faster service, you may need a car carrier to carry fewer cars. For example, carriers that possess two, four, or six vehicles at a time are generally faster because of less loading / unloading.

Larger car carriers holding 7 to 10 vehicles at a time offer the cheapest service. The biggest reason for this is that they are simply increasing the number of cars that generate money. Therefore, they can keep the price per car low. The disadvantage of larger car carriers is the speed at which they operate. A large car carrier may pick up and drop all the vehicles of a trailer in another location. Therefore, it may be about 7 to 10 pickups. Your car's safety on a larger truck is very good. However, since the large car carriers are loaded and unloaded, the possibility of minor damage increases.

Smaller car carriers hold 1 to 6 cars at a time. These carriers tend to charge more charges due to the fact that there are few vehicles to transport. The level of service tends to be larger because the pickups are decreasing and decreasing service so fast that the service is reduced. Since 2, 3, and 4 car carriers have 1 level trailer, damage is less likely to occur due to ease of loading and unloading. Smaller car carriers are used by dealers who need immediate service or perhaps individuals who can provide top quality service using sealed carrier service.
