Brain tumor type and treatment -2

Brain cancer is a mass that interferes with the general functions of the brain, such as certain cells in the brain proliferate and other functions that help control muscle, sensation, memory, and your body It is a disease to be formed. Tumors of cancerous cells grow and spread to other parts of the brain. These are called malignant tumors. Noncancerous tumors are not spreading and are basically localized. These are called benign tumors. Primary tumors arise in brain cells. Secondary tumors develop in other parts of the body and propagate to the brain. These are also called metastatic tumors.

Brain cancer grade

Brain tumors have four different classifications:

Grade I - Benign tumor with slow growth. It looks like normal brain cells.

Grade II - Malignant tumor that does not appear normal than Grade I tumor.

Grade III - Malignant tumor that looks very different from normal cells. They grow aggressively and apparently look abnormal.

Grade IV - Malignant tumor with apparently abnormal appearance cells that grow rapidly and spread.

Brain tumor treatment

The treatment approach of brain cancer is customized for each diagnosis. Treatment depends on the type of cancer, the location in the brain, the size of the tumor, and the age and general state of health of the patient.

Treatment options for brain tumors are classified as surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy. For each diagnosis, a combination of any of the methods described above is used.

By surgery, tumors are excised from normal tissues. This is an invasive approach to treating cancer. The other two methods are noninvasive. Radiation therapy helps destroy tumors with high energy radiation that concentrates on the tumor and destroys the cells. It destroys the ability of replicating and spreading tumors. Generally X-rays and gamma rays are used for this purpose. Radiation is very concentrated and does not affect healthy tissue surrounding the tumor.

Chemotherapy uses specific drugs and medicines to destroy tumor-causing cells. Many kinds of drugs are used. These drugs are designed to fight different types of cancer cells. The whole procedure keeps sound cells safe from the effect of the medicine.

Some tumors are considered to be inoperable because surgical resection may adversely affect other parts of the brain. The surgeon will receive this call. However, although one surgeon may declare a tumor inoperable, it is very important to understand that another surgeon may be able to operate it. We recommend that you give some opinion before giving up.

Other treatment options may include thermal treatment and immunotherapy. There are several side effects for all the procedures listed. Surgery may be swollen, healthy tissue or possible damage to a seizure. Chemotherapy may experience nausea, vomiting, hair loss, low energy levels. Radiation therapy is known to have side effects similar to chemotherapy.
