The iPhone is one of the fastest selling products that have been blessed with planets so far, and the number of people who currently own is quite phenomenal. But one of the small design flaws many people comment on is that they are particularly slippery phones that they hold and can lead to many accidents. Truly unfortunate our people even drop our iPhone into some liquid. Please read here about how to detect leaks on your iPhone and what to do if you suffer flood damage.
Check for damage
All iPhones incorporate liquid contact indicators during the manufacturing process. This is on the bottom of the headphone jack, with the model after 3G and the indicator on the bottom of the dock connector housing. These indicators will operate when in contact with liquid. If your iPhone comes into contact with any liquid, you can check leak detection and light up the headphone jack. Usually there are small dots of white or silver. When the indicator contacts the liquid, the indicator turns red or partially or completely. The dock connector housing indicator can be checked in exactly the same way.
Where you are standing
Even if your iPhone is covered by Apple's warranty, repair or replacement of the phone will not be free. This is because Apple decided that Apple is not responsible for taking proper care of the product.
Solve problems yourself
If you perform a leak detection and your iPhone turns out that the water is broken, there are still options available. The first option is to try and dry the iPhone - most mobile phones eventually start working again after getting wet. First place the iPhone in a cupboard or boiler room containing air and leave it for 1 or 2 days. Use a low setting hair dryer to dry the item thoroughly and allow some air to flow inside. Finally, put the iPhone in a rice bag for two or three days to absorb the remaining water.
If the above process does not work, you can either sell the iPhone for a spare or contact Apple and check what you can offer. They may modify the item for the price, or possibly offer you exchange products at a reduced rate.
