What is carpal tunnel syndrome? -2

If you are experiencing the following symptoms, you are probably suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome: experience the tingling of the thumb? How is index, middle, ring finger? Are you always awake with pain during the night? Does the pain go away by moving such hands, trembling or massaging? Will pain sometimes span my arms and shoulders? Are you numb? When feeling discomfort with your hand, is there a time when you feel that your dexterity is lost?

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a condition that affects the wrist and hands of a patient. It includes a wrist space surrounded by bones and hard ligaments. Such a space is called a carpal tunnel.

Muscles and tendons are brought into activity by moving the wrist and fingers. It is important to lubricate the tendons to achieve optimum function. If the tendon is not lubricated, friction exists between the tendon and the tendon sheath and swells in that region. Inflammation damages the median nerve by thickening the sheath and causing the formation of fibrous tissue that limits tendon movement.

Carpal tunnel syndrome is common. Symptoms of disability were 614 out of 982 supermarket checkers in one survey and 52 people in 700 employees of electronic manufacturing factory. 117 people of 788 meat disposers had undergone surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome. According to a survey, it has been revealed that carpal tunnel surgery is performed 65 times by an average of 400 American surgeons every year.

Carpal tunnel syndrome is commonly seen in individuals who do many things requiring repeated hand movements, strong and tight hand grips, vibrations, and mechanical stress on the palm of the work. The position of the unnatural hand also makes it easy for the disorder to develop.

Occupations that are at risk of developing carpal tunnel syndrome are checkers, typists, knitting hands, clothes, sewers and so on. People working in bakers who are repeatedly flexed and elongated during kneading work together with those who need them work with spray paint guns of vibrating hand tools such as time as well as work quickly You may develop a disorder.

This disease is associated with several diseases. These include arthritis, tenosynovitis, hypothyroidism, gout and diabetes. Wrist rearrangement and fracture are also risk factors for developing carpal tunnel syndrome. Long-term use of oral contraceptives is associated with increased risk of CTS, and menopause and pregnancy. These diseases and physiological events increase the risk of carpal tunnel syndrome, probably because they cause an exchange of the structure inside the carpal tunnel that constricts the median nerve.

Several anatomical changes, such as wrist size and shape, can also increase the risk of obtaining CTS. Some symptoms experienced by patients with carpal tunnel syndrome manifest themselves as weak hands and it is difficult to use hands for pinching and grasping. Dry skin may also be experienced.

Evaluating carpal tunnel syndrome always begins with evaluating the risk of human work at CTS. The physician asks about the frequency and regularity of patient employment, typical day work, and work performed by the patient in the workplace.

Physicists will perform a physical exam called Tinel's test and Phalen's test. When examining Tynel, the doctor will tap the wrist of the patient in the median nerve area, and when a finger stinging pain occurs, it shows a damage of the median nerve. Phalen's test is that the patient bends his / her wrist for 1 minute and the toe of the foot bulges. These two tests will greatly help physicians in the evaluation and diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome. This also helps the doctor evaluate whether the patient needs surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome.

The doctor may also order EMG to measure how fast the median nerve transmits the message to the muscles. This is a good indicator of the condition of the median nerve.

If you think that you are experiencing symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome, please consult a qualified doctor to evaluate the disease.

There are other risks when you are sitting in front of that computer, but in this article I have written a lot of things, so if you would like to know more about other risks:

Asthenopia

RSI (Repetitive Stress Syndrome)

Carpal tunnel syndrome

Constant head arches

dizzy

Breathing problems

Intensive concentration

You can learn about this all in the book "The Painless PC".
